Applications for our 68th Annual Escondido Jaycees Christmas Parade “Wild About Christmas” are now available!

Please read all instructions thoroughly as significant changes have been made to the application process this year.

This year’s parade will take place on Saturday December 8th, 2018 and will start promptly at 9:30am. The parade will go South on Broadway from Escondido High School to Grape Day Park.

Please “like” and subscribe to notifications on our Facebook group “Escondido Jaycees Annual Christmas Parade” to ensure that you are alerted about important Parade announcements. We will also be posting updates on this website.


The application deadline for this year’s Parade has been moved up significantly in order to allow for better planning for our participants and for our Parade Committee.

This year’s deadline is October 17, 2018.


***NEW: Due to the overwhelming number of applications in the last few years, we must limit the number of entries that will participate in the Parade. This means that some applicants will not be able to participate this year. Please understand that we have always prided ourselves on being inclusive of everyone who has submitted an application in the past, but need to be considerate of the surrounding neighborhoods and our volunteers. We hope that you understand. ***

Please be aware that by applying, you are not guaranteed to be selected to participate. Selection is subject to the Parade Committee’s discretion and will be reflected by our time constraints as well as creating a variety of participants. We do encourage you to be creative when planning your entry and to be as descriptive as possible on your application. You will be notified if your entry has been accepted to participate no later than November 1, 2018.

***NEW!*** You must include a description of your entry along in addition to your application and your Announcer’s Script. Please describe your plans for your entry and how you will incorporate this year’s theme into your entry.

HOW TO ENTER: Submit your completed application by email or mail no later than WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 17th, 2018. Please note the earlier application deadline this year – we moved the application deadline earlier in order to give applicants time to prepare their entries after having their entry approved. For fastest processing, please scan and email your signed application to (PREFERRED). If you choose to mail in your application, please expect longer processing time.

Application Instructions:

  1.  We will post the application on this website on Labor Day weekend. Download the editable PDF parade application here: 68th Annual Escondido Jaycees Christmas Parade Application
  2. Fill out the entire application. At the bottom, please electronically sign or print, sign, and scan your application. (Partial applications will not be accepted)
  3. Email your signed and completed application with the required additional information in the BODY of your email to us at with a subject line of “Parade Application – Entry Name”. Only one application per email.
    • DESCRIPTION OF ENTRY (NEW!): Please include a description of your entry and how you plan on incorporating this year’s theme “Wild About Christmas” into your entry. We encourage you to be creative when planning your entry and to be as descriptive as possible.
    • ANNOUNCER SCRIPTS: Include a 50-100 word script in English in the 3rd person to be read by the announcers as your entry passes by. This should include a brief description of your organization and information about your parade entry. Be festive and creative! ***Your application will not be considered complete without the above items***
  4. If you are unable to email your application, it can be can be mailed to our PO Box. If you are sending your application by mail, the above items must be TYPED and included with your application. No handwritten items.

  5. CONFIRMATION OF RECEIPT: You will receive a confirmation email upon receipt and processing of your application to the email address provided on your application. This email only confirms that all parts of your application have been received. It does not guarantee a spot in the parade line up. If you have not received an email within 48 hours of emailing your application or within 1 week of sending your mailed application, we have not received your application.
  6. APPROVAL FOR PARADE LINE UP: If your group has been approved and assigned a position in the Parade line up, you will receive another email to the email address you provided on your application by November 1, 2018. All decisions are final.

Example 1:

The San Diego Labrador Meetup group is a group for Labrador owners and lovers to get together with their Labrador ’s and enjoy a variety of activities. This group is the largest one of its kind in the country and is made up of over 100 members and their dogs! Anyone who owns a Labrador is welcome to join the group. Labrador are one of the most popular family breeds in the world, and make excellent companions and service dogs. The members of the San Diego Labrador Meetup group wish you and your family a very happy holiday season.

Example 2:

The road to the Little League World Series starts here at Escondido Little League. Escondido Little League is the only Inland North County Little League ever to send a team to the Little League World Series. This coming year marks our 60th Anniversary serving the youth in Escondido. They believe every youth should have the right to play baseball. Escondido Little League is a non – profit organization that is dedicated to the youth of our community and teaches the fundamentals of baseball. Baseball is an incredible way to teach respect, teamwork, fairness, commitment, caring and self-worth, all while having fun. From your friends at Escondido Little League they would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
